Direct Federal has donated $5,000 to relief efforts in Ukraine to the following organizations:

This organization has been aiding Ukrainians in Ukraine and abroad for 75 years. Their current efforts are focused on providing medical equipment and supplies to the people in Ukraine, as well as food and shelter. They are working closely with UCCA, UWC, US Aid, and the Ukrainian Embassy.

This organization was started by Jose Andres, a well-known chef. Andres’s book from a few years ago; “We Fed an Island” tells the story of how he and a few other chefs mobilized a massive feeding operation in Puerto Rico after the hurricane, cutting through FEMA bureaucracy and navigating island-wide power outages. Andres has also done similar things in Haiti prior to establishing WCK. WCK began serving hot meals within hours of the initial invasion at a border crossing in Poland, and they are now set up at eight border crossings across the country. Additionally, WCK is supporting local restaurants preparing meals in five Ukrainian cities including in Odessa and Lviv. WCK teams are also on the ground in Romania, Moldova, Hungary, and arriving soon in Slovakia to see how they can best support.
